  • How to solder, Soldering Techniques

  • Soldering is an art. It becomes good with practice. In the process of soldering we heat the metal parts to be joined and apply flux and solder to them.

    What is a Solder?

A metal alloy with reduced melting and flowing temperatures & the method of joining two metallic surfaces by melting an alloy between them is called as soldering.

    Soldering Tips & Techniques:

Wait for about 1 minute for soldering iron to get heated up.

Never touch the tip of Soldering Iron.

Return the soldering iron to its stand when not in use.

When we melt solder the smoke formed from flux is irritating, therefore make sure you are soldering in a well opened area.

Whatever you are soldering, you should 'tin' both contacts before you attempt to solder them. This process is called tinning.

Keep your iron tip clean. If you feel like iron tip is not clean, wipe the tip of the iron on moist sponge.

When Soldering is finished wash your hands properly.
